I don't have any direct experience myself, but I have seen many of the aftermarket blower kits for trucks not working much better than stock when just slapped on out of the box. I know one kit that people use on the Denali's (not sure ofthe kit brand) really needs better injecots and a custom tune, since the piggyback piece they send with is almost worthless and difficultto install at times.

Piggy backing is the lazy mans Mod.. the only time I trust something like that is if it came from someone who like Banks who tests tests and tests some more. Even then you run into problems.. If you are going to do something do it right Get a tune.

If anyone can swap out that blower and make it work on another engine, the Wren can do it. ;)
If it can't, they he will sort it out and not simply piggyback it in hopes that it'll work.

Tuning is key and that unit may be undersized or incorrectly installed for the truck application.

That SC looks like it belongs under the hood of a Mini Cooper S. :?

Yeah, that 'charger is kinda in a funny spot. All the one's I've seen are on top.

The other thing there is no nose drive... Im having a herd time believing thats a Whipple.. I have looked over my old books and havent found it yet. Looks more like a procharger... :?

I have Whipple books going back 5 years got a model number.?

It's a whipple. There is no question in my mind about that. It's a much older kit though. And it is a kit that bolts up fairly well.

I'm surprised nobody has commented on the black coating. ;)

(BTW, I already suspect a Gen3 M62 will outflow this short-rotor POS, which would pretty much rule it out for a 5.0).

Whipple has been coating there blowers for a while. They even have colors now

Hey Shadd, I never said it wasn't. My terrible times and 1/4 mile speeds with a Gen V are testiment to that.
I'm the first to admit, my set up needs to be tuned.
I'm just not the one to do it. I don't have the equipment, patience or know how.
Got some learning to do or maybe a long drive to visit Intense.

All cost more than I'm able to spend right now. :(

I'm pulling so much KR right now, might as well pop on the 2.9" pulley.....can't be much worse....

.....oh wait, I just saw the pic of that holed piston at Hoser Boosty's.

You don't get it. ;)

If you spent more time in Forced Induction, or took a good look at my supercharger, you'd understand my point.
