Very true, didn't mean to equate those two descriptions. I see no problem with refurbished, especially when any type of warranty is offered. I won't say "You CAN'T lose", but I will say "You RARELY lose".

refurb stuff is usually great... i think of it as well tested... i would rather get a refurb item with no warrenty than a new item with a 30 day warrenty...

My parents bought a Dell OptiPlex GX-Pro in '96, with a 200mhz Pentium Pro processor. It has all the original components, everything works great, still a very usable system. It was refurbished, and to this day, still boots up [soon to come into my grouping of computers]. I'd like to see a new Dell last almost 10 years.
