Default Ready to get flamed... can a Bonny be a decent choice for Airport Limo

Like many of us, money is tight. I travel often and take a car (lincoln town car) to the airport per army requirement.

I also work near the airport and live near an area that is dense with airport travelers. I have been on Ebay looking at used Town Cars. They are pricey, but they have a certain image and when I ask the car service drivers, they always state they are solid and easy to service.

Next thought was...... can a Bonneville be a smart choice for a car service. Any thoughts?? Is the back seat big enough? Will the image work?

I'm 5'11" and for me to sit comfortably you can't fit a a person too well back there, then if you have a decent sized passenger with you there is even less room in the back, if it is just for bags and such it would probably work well since you have a good sized trunk too but for some reason there isn't much back seat room even compared to a G6 which I was sitting in this weekend and I had plenty of room

for 2 people it'* perfect for a long trip but taking along 2 big guys and 1 medium sized guy in the back was not fun for 3 hours since I had to sit on top of the steering wheel

I don't see why not.. I find that all the seats are comfortable in a Bonneville, especially the back. Large trunk, easy maintenance, all the creature comforts. Probably better gas mileage too. You would be looking for a newer SLE.

Maybe I just recline my seat a bit far, I can't sit straight up very long

My GXP back seats are very comfortable as long as you have the leg room, which is a little thing I often forget when I hop out the front and into the back, enough said

The rear seat materials in the GXP look awesome, might impress some clients. The car service I use drives beat up 300k Town Cars. A couple of old guys. I use them because they are flawless in their service. Occasionally they farm me out and I get to ride in a newer town car and the difference is huge between their POS sedans and a newer sedan. But I will always use these guys, they dispatch and drive so all I have to say is my name and they show up.

No idea if driving people to the airport on the side is a worthwhile extra income idea- but I think it is worth looking at.

YMMOT- I work in Rolling Meadows- so you know the area I am talking about.....

If you want to put GXP seats in make sure you get a car with a dark grey interior, mine looks a little weird with all tan interior and dark seats

Yessir, no point in even trying to get anywhere between the hours of 5 and 7. Normally takes me 10 minutes to get to school (10 miles down 355), I left work a little late one day, took me an hour.

The business would definitely be there though, we send people to and have people picked up from the airport regularly.

Having been in the Cab business. A Bonneville just doesn't make it. Especially as an Airport vehicle. Airport Taxi'* get premium State mandated maximums for charges. And Rear legroom is a must. And a big Bonne fail. This is compounded by most Bonne drivers needing the front seat all the way back. At 6'4" my knee hits the dash even then. I've never used or been acquainted with anyone using anything other than Town Cars and Caprices, with an ocassional Park Avenue, but they are bigger than the Bonnie. The LeSabre is the Buick Match to the Bonne, not the Park Avey. I've had 2 and they are much roomier than the Bonne/LeSabre.

As a regular cab it'* fail x 2. You've got to be able to get 3 people in the back of a cab and 2 passengers in the front. Otherwise your missing out on calls w/4-5 people and unable to do double fares. A local company I use to run still hunts down nicer Caprices and Town Cars, but is slowly replacing the fleet with minivans.
