Looks like tobacco might be used as well. Very interesting snuff,... I mean stuff. Maybe marijuana would help as well. I'd be willing to donate several acres for research.

you always hear some scientist made some breakthrough for this or that but you never hear that something actually got implemented. we are all still driving gas cars with a little ethanol. ive been looking at electric cars lately.

You hear about breakthoughs, but nothing so far that requires no modifications to your vehicle or the way the fuel is made. That'* the trick. Make the transition as painless as possible.

TRUTH!

I did remember reading an article in the last month or two about a synthetic fuel that a company developed in the UK that would be cheap enough to produce at $1.20 USD a gallon at the pump and would require no modifications to our cars.

I posted that article. After researching the company and the technology, I found out that it requires a separate expansion tank (not very big) and some way to recycle the waste that'* produced or something like that. Still a very cool concept.

The problem is, it would end up being $4 a gallon because of all the taxes.

According to the article, based on the current cost of gas with taxes considered, that'* the price *we* would see at the pump.
