My thunderbird'* brakes were grinding for like over a month. Well, they are fixed now but the rim has this lovely coat of rust on it

Can I get rid of this?????

Not if nobody wants it.
I suppose you could just drive it to the dump and leave it and hope they don't track you down and make you take it back. :P
