In my humble opinion purple (better known as dark cherry) is the best bonneville color...

I just found a silver 40th 1997 SSEi with 125,xxx miles for $4000 too. Original owner and very clean. I'm debating. I like the mpg'* of the L36 (consistantly 32-35 freeway and never below 24-26 with a mix of in town and freeway whereas in my SSEi I mostly saw 25-26 mpg pure highway -on two occasions I saw 30 and with a mix I was lucky to average 21-23 mpg). The Premium fuel doesn't bother me -I have only put regular or mid grade fuel in my old 1994 a total of 3 times -never in my SSEi or my current SSE and between the three vehicles I put a combined 70,000+ miles on them. For me the big reason (aside from the purchase price and color/rims) for having my SSE is because with the power of the modded L67 I find myself in too much trouble whereas the SSE can be somewhat quick but it'* not quick enough to get the cops attention (unless I really lay into it) at the lights (I have a heavy foot at the light, but once I get to the speed limit I could be mistaken for some Grandma).
