I just noticed the Public Service ads and changes at the top of our Forum.

Someone has to pay for our interests.

I don't like the ads. I think they need to be removed pronto, I feel it ruins the whole point of BC.com

The reality is that it is expensive to run this site (like an extra car payment every month). I put it off as long as possible (four and a half years), but no longer. Believe me, it was a difficult step to take, but I think it is necessary to guarantee the long-term survival of the site.

I know that many people will be angry or disappointed, but I hope that you can understand the financial necessity.

Do you want to start paying for the site??? Feel free if you have the money go for it dude. And it is not like you have to look at them all the time, and they are not jumping out at you. It is not like you are being invaded by pop-ups............Goodness, you would think that you could have some respect for the man that runs this site for us. :?

Pmom, I never disrespected Jeff (if it'* okay that I call him Jeff). Like Jeff said in the other thread that he posted, it was getting too expensive for him, I didn't know that at the moment when I posted my original comment. Now I've read it and now I understand why Jeff had to do this, he said it was a hard decision and I certainly respect it. Pmom, don't get me wrong I respect the people who run this site IMMENSELY.

Oh and to 1995.......how many of the people here would ACTUALLY put their money into the site. Yes there people here who would put money into the sire, however, there are not as many as we would like to think. People say that the site means a lot to them, but when it comes to money, I think that people would rather see a few little ads than fussing with money.

No disrespect taken. You replied and you backed up your reply with another thread, which I might add was a great way to prove your point. It'* just that the reality of the situation is such that we must face a few ads here if we want the site to be the great place we know it is.
