So Im looking at a PSP to get to take with me to Iraq. Granted My laptop will be going too, but I'll end up buying a new one cause my old one is taking a ****. But ANYWAYs, I want to know if anyone has a PSP or know of those who do. Durability and such. Im diggin the PSP and the 4GB harddrive attachment for it[kinda pricey, but beats carrying around a library of mem sticks].
If you want features like watching movies and best graphics in the business, then get a PSP. Though, they are really bad with the battery consumption and their games are really boring.
If you want a portable for playing games, Nintendo DS kills the competition hands down and is a lot more durable and conventional espeically for the size. I would say if your taking your laptop allready, there is no need for a PSP, unless you like playstation games that much.

Sand isnt too bad on electronics, as long as you keep the bag or case sealed when not using it, IE the $400 Pelican case. But as for the PSP, the laptop would primarily be used at home base for email and internet. The PSP on the otherhand doubles as a portable music and movie player. You guys gotta remember that I will be on the road and at FOB[Forward operating bases] alot, and I cant cart the laptop with me. The PSP will fit in one of my 40MM grenade pouches.
Hmmm, so your actually going to have time to use this device while on the road? Just get a iPod man, get one with the video capabilities as well. They are smaller and more suitable for that type of use.

Dont be too suprised. Last time I was over there, we jury rigged a CD player into our Com system on our Bradley. Essentially listening to music and what we were saying to one another through our CVC helmets.
Pelican is the way to go, My dad lives on a sailboat and he puts everything in those cases, you can throw em in the water and still good to go.
BTW a good friend of mine is near bagdad right now and has had his laptop for about a year no problems so far.
