Congratulations! I know exactly how you feel! My son just turned 11 days old! Every day is a birthday at this age! Did you have a fun ride into the hospital? I sure did. I also got to deliver my son! This hospital rocks!

No flashers here. Just a lot of power to the road. My wife still says that each time she had a contraction she could feel the car accelerate! But I kept my cool and only ran between 90 and 95. It was fast enough for night driving on back roads with occational ice in a state known for car-deer accidents.

My wife was nice to me. She realized that she had just as much to do with her situation as I did. She didn't swear or yell at me. She knew what she was getting in to.

Be prepared for at least a week of sleepless nights. Our son was nursing every 15-30 minutes. He would fall asleep for 15 minutes or so, then wake up wanting more. I did my best to help out--but of course I was ill-equipped to help in the actual feeding. Instead I got up and brought our son to "mom". We also have an arrangement. She feeds and I clean (she puts it in and I take it out--Diaper duty).

If you guys have some friends that can cook, have them bring food over for the first week so that you guys don't have to worry about cooking for yourselves.

Have fun.

my wife had an epidural so the pain portion was minimal for her.

No time for pain killers or interventions for my wife. She did it au'naturale.
