Default Programming Anti-lock brakes - Who knew?

Chevy sent me a letter saying they can improve braking performance slightly on dry pavement by reprogramming the electronic brake control module. It'* not a recall, they're calling it a voluntary customer satisfaction program. The letter says it affects certain 2006 Impala vehicles with ABS & 17 or 18 inch wheels. Since I've got a Monte Carlo it probably affects all ABS cars with 17 or 18 inch wheels. Does anyone care to speculate on how different size wheels would affect ABS braking?

the cars with the larger wheels need more stopping power....maybe the EBCM applies more 'pressure' to the breaks with less effort??

I didn't think the EBCM applied brake pressure, I thought it just took it away.

I have heard rumors through police magazines that Impalas have fixed their braking problems. They used to have terrible brake distances, and this year they improved. Too bad I just threw the magazine away.
