BULL****!!
Did you read how much it costs here in Germany? $7.14/gallon for 87. I don't think you have much basis to your complaint.

$2.79 a gallon here.
Exxon Mobil = 8 billion in profits last time reported.
Pisses me off, I know I shouldn't complain because most of you pay more, but I cant see why its so much. We will pay it, and so they will charge it. Oh well

This is B.*.! I drove 400 miles today, and down in southern Michigan, gas is 2.99/gallon. Just 150 miles north/west, gas is $3.15 for regular. Why $0.16 difference with relatively little distance?

Just reporting economics..... Exxon/Mobil pumps @4 million barrels a day. The highest estimate from Wall Street that I have seen, it costs them $25/ barrel to pump. that'* why their profits have been so large. They don't make nearly that margin in refining, distribution, and wholesale.

$2.95 - 87 oct
$3.15 - 93 oct

I put 87 in on Monday for $2.78 a gallon. Wouldn't be so bad if I lived closer to town and didn't have so much city traffic to drive through.

6 miles to work x 10 trips a week = 60 miles/wk.
4 miles to superwalmart = 8 miles/wk.
Car gets 20-25 mi/gal x 5gal = room to spare.
I bought my F150 w/52k on it. I've had it 11 years and am still under 100k. I don't drive alot.

The nearest gas station sells 89 for cheaper than 87 octane. Last time I filled up (89 of course) it was $2.99 for 89 and $3.09 for 87. Go figure.

Simple Economics really, if people will pay x price for a certain demand, why not charge it?

Especially if they're a "captured" customer, and you have limited supplies. They are trying to price demand down somewhat, but americans like living in suburbia away from their jobs, shops, etc.

UK gas prices is that high due to their fuel duty (tax). All road spending, and whatnot comes from their fuel tax.
