I just have one FAVORITE engine of all.....and thats one that runs without problems

EDIT: Ok one more. The Mitsubishi 1.8L four cylinder. That egnine took allot of abuse from me like not changing the oil or filter for over a year. I would just add oil to bring it up and go. Car would still be running had it not been for having to pass the MA state Emissions.

3800, its the only engine I've had luck with. Once you replace all the gaskets they last a LONG time.

I honestly have to ask why? The Powerstroke 6.0L is not exactly the most reliable thing in the world. The Dmax and Cummins are much better from what I hear. No offense if you own one.

A guy at my work has one, the heads warped and he had to have new ones put on, then a week later the turbo blew out. My uncle is a fleet tech for the school board and he'* told me the 6.0L is the biggest POS Ford/International have ever made. (He loves the Duramax and Cummins, though)

Well, from family and friend experience.

My uncle has owned 2 Dodge cummins deisels. My sister'* bf has one as well. Exellent powertrain, but the auto trannies and rear end'* are garbage. If you look closely, I rate the cummins above a Power Stroke.

Duramax, that is one INTERESTING engine. I tend to hear quite a few horror stories from a friend of mine that works at a Chevy dealership. More along the lines with electrical malfunctions and smaller parts breaking. No real complants of trannys or rear ends though, which I find rather suprising.

Pre-2003 Power Strocks tend to have the most issues. Between seizing of the engine, to turbo'* blowing up, once again I have another friend that is a tech at a Ford dealership . The current Power Stroke motor tends to hold up MUCH better. Along with the bulletproof trannies and rear ends, they have quite a winner in my eyes.
