Yep. "con" is short for "console" which was a DOS reserved word for console.

Pull up a DOS window and type "copy con test.txt" Type a few lines then press F6 and press enter. "1 files copied" appears. open up test.txt and you will see the data that you typed

you can also not make a folder called "prn", "com1" etc etc.

As Mortehl so B.*.ingly pointed out...there is a difference between "hearing", actually "listening", and then of course "comprehending".
