I'm pretty sure it'* gonna be around the Trans Am base price (no, not base firebird) I'd say it'll be around 27-32 base....

Dont forget about the gas guzzler tax. But from the grapevine all said & done would be about $39K

According to the Pontiac head of Marketing for the 2004 GTO (he is also in charge of the Bonneville and Grnad Prix ), it is going to cost $33,000. All cars will be the same as far as options, with the only available option being the manual 6 speed tranny. He did a presentation at the 2003 GTO Nationals in Columbus OH in July. Souinds like this car is going to be awesome in the power department. Fastest "production" GTO ever ( 0-60 in 5.5 seconds). Personally, though, I wish it had a more distinctive look. If I saw one on the street, it would be hard to tell if it was some kind of Toyota, Lexus, Honda, or Goat. Pontiac is going to offer an aftermarket hood w/scoops this year, as well as a different afermarket spoiler. True dual exhaust is tuned to the government allowed max of 80 decibals at idle.

I agree with you Bob. While it is a nice looking car, it doesn't look GTO to me.

I know I was disappointed when I saw it. I was hoping they'd go more vintage, like the Mustang will be in 2005. That one looks sweet.

I agree too, but wait until you see one on the street before writing it off. Lutz had a tough time turning the tides so to speak and retrofitting the Pontiac facia and interiors into the Holden Monaro in short notice. I like the car, it'* a start in the right direction for GM.
