8.5X26 ENCLOSED CARGO TRAILER CAR HAULER TOY ATV BIKE MOTORCYCLE 28FT 8ft 26ft in Trailers | eBay Motors

seems like a better deal for a new and better trailer. you would have to upgrade the axles, it says it has 3500'* and tha would only be good for something real light like motor cycles. a regular car and some stuff you going to need the 5k, it says $450.

Justin,

Thanks. I went and looked at the local for sale trailer. It was in bad shape, owner could not tell me if it was highway worthy, etc. It looked super heavy, had a water leak in the roof.

I am heading to the dealer on the 5k trailer tomorrow, see what I can do. It is about 150 miles from me, but based on what I have seen, it might be the closest thing to a match.

I liked the new trailer you showed, but the GA dealer is 800+ miles from me.

Does anyone know what dovetail is in relation to a trailer floor? I am guessing it is a metal strip with slats, but looking to verify....

Drove 100 miles to look at the trailer I am the Ebay high bidder on yesterday. At first look it was super nice. No rust, sharp color. It was raining. After a few minutes, I decided to get wet, and laid on the grass and looked under the trailer. Pretty darn rusted up. I started to look closer, and realized the trailer had been repainted, and lots of runs in the paint. They painted all the exterior metal to mask the rust.

I am concerned that the paint may not stick over the long haul, and if it starts peeling, one butt ugly trailer....

thats alot of money for a rusted one when you can get new like that one i posted for slightly more whatever the shipping is going to run.

dove tail meens the rear portion is tilting down toward the ground so when you load its not as much of an angle

Justin,

Thanks, I am looking into the links you posted!

I am no longer the high bidder on the used trailer at the Ford dealer. I sent him a e-mail stating the trailer had multiple repaint runs and that it has serious interior water damage. He wrote back saying it is as is. I wrote back stating he should update the listing to reflect actual condition, he said as is. I am going to write Ebay, hate to see someone mislead, especially by a big dealer.

Too bad you couldn't do what you can on Craigslist. Write an opposing ad.

Mike,

You are right. I can always be the high bidder, then write a review that seller failed to disclose major issues, and not pay. But I am not going to work in that manner.

The biggest issue I see, is the trailer is likely white, but now painted brown. With a paint job with major issues, I suspect the paint prep may be improper, and once the paint starts to peel off, the trailer will look real bad with no easy fix.
