I am a gun owner myself. Thing is..when you are sleeping..if they get in w/o you knowing...who'* holding the gun now?

Dogs are alarms with teeth that'll keep you company while protecting you.

Yeah, get a gun that they can grab while you are still asleep and use on you. Or steal, and use on someone else....

It takes years of training to use a gun in an emergency effectively. Just get the dog. Or, lock the windows in the slightly open position. If your windows don't do it now, a drill and a box of 16 penny nails will make them do it. If they see they can't get in, they'll move on.

sorry to here that matt, it sucks how people are. Living in America everyone is entitled to the opportunity to have anything their heart desire, you just have to work hard and bust your *** to get it. Some people would rather just steal others people stuff. I hate crooks! Yeah I'm with everyone else, get a gun, then get a big dog to warn you to get the gun I can't wait to turn 21, I will be getting me a legalized gun.

well, the general consensus seems to be get a dog and/or a gun, funny thing is...we have both but the guns are strictly hunting and are locked up in a case in our basement. but the dog, shes just retarded she was asleep in the basement with my sister and her boyfriend (who were awake and watching a movie at the time)

so maybe the gun(*) will be moved so that they can be used for home defense, who knows.

heres the slash pics

and heres our "security" system

I have a German shepherd and he doesn't like anyone he doesn't know. People always ask why he is so mean and my response is that he was raised to protact us , not to be everyones friend.

I have small children and a dog was chosen over a gun.

now i am just pissed! the past 2 days, the same group of 4 guys have come back and casually walked by my house and then turn around about 50 feet from my house and then go back to their car, we are 99% sure that these are the same kids that were trying to break in two nights ago, this is really upsetting my family is so paranoid right now that we cant sleep barely at night and every noise makes use think someone is trying to get in, my dad even went and got his shotgun from the gun case last night, this is really odd and i can tell he is very paranoid because he isnt usually one to consider harming another person with a gun, but now im really getting sick of this ****. if they wouldnt keep coming back it would be so much easier to sleep.

sad thing is i even recognize these kids from school but i cant remember their names :?
