Not chewing butt here, just curious, and trying to clear the air.
Deathrat had his own version of the story. Quite twisted, as you might expect (my apologies to Deathrat fro assuming he was the author, but that'* the type of stuff to expect, and he was absorbed in wrapping himself up in issues that didn't concern him).
Jeffrey resigned as a gearhead and left of his own accord because of another member (not an Admin/Mod/Staff, etc). None of his posts were erased, deleted, or moved. They ALL remain.

Don't beat yourself up. This is just a good example of what can happen if you don't try to discover the other side of the story. You went with what you knew, and that'* only human.
I'm sure Dan is probably regretting his own comments right now too

We had no wish to give Jeffrey a black name, and as such, posted no information publicly, other than that he chose to leave. This was a LONG time ago folks. Jeffrey and I still communicate from time to time, as do other members with him.
Sometimes the internet sucks, eh?
Try searching for Jeffrey'* posts under the name "Former Member".
When a member leaves BC, even if they request their posts be deleted, we refuse. Deathrat tried this twice. Posts on this Forum are the property of the Author AND the Forum. Valuable information will never be deleted, regardless of a member'* standing.
