I have yet to see an actual link to a test. Link us!

I had always run penzoil when I changed my oil...until recently when I switched to syn. I am wondering if that is the cause of my engine being so dirty. The only real way to tell that is if after time the syn. cleans things up and it starts comming out cleaner.

Before you bet the farm on an analysis, compare SEVERAL of them. Most are slanted one way or the other.

That'* what I thought.

Both QS and Pennzoil are known to be poorer culprits in sludging up V6 Toyota Camrys. Personally, when it comes to dino oil, I'm a Castrol GTX fan. Especially the Made In Germany stuff, but that'* pretty hard to come by.

I have to agree. I like the dino version better than the syn version. Both are great for an engine with miles on it.

I used the regular version in my Lumina and then switched to the Synthetic version and they both worked well. Only went to synthetic because its supposed to help power and protect better so I figured why not. I changed the oil every 2700 miles or so and it was usually still pretty clean at that point after the first couple changes. (had to change the filter anyways, so I just changed the oil and all) By the time I had sold the car it had cleaned the engine out so much that with 3100 miles on the oil it was still clear (looked brand new), originally I thought it just didn't clean as well as the other oils and thats why the oil was clean, but when I took the valve covers off the engine was much cleaner. I was impressed by that oil to say the least, and the car ran great too! I'll probably be switching to it in the STE instead of the Dura-blend I've been using.
