I just found out that Disney has made a movie about my last deployment. I was on CV-64 USS Constellation. A little back ground is the Navy has a program that friends and family can ride on the carrier for last few days back to port. In our case we stopped in Pearl Harbor and picked them up for the "tiger criuse". I saw the USS Arizona and had a bad feeling where due. That was 9/9/01. We pulled out and was where on our final leg home so weapons where downloaded and people and sqdns where packing things up. Then... well I was working NX and it was about 0300 local when I watched it live being we just got back in reg US CNN satilite coverage. This was my 4th deployment and I've never saw the sudden and total change from peace to war attude like I saw there. Plus there was nothing for us to do about it. @ least the JFK went to NY to show support. Plus as the movie will show we had 300+ civ'* to get rid of before we did anything. They where worryed but so where we. I'm digressing- o it will be sappy and not quite how it happened. However I will tape it Aug 6th and show it to my son (due sept 1st) when he'* old enf to show him where exactly his dad was what he was doing,how it felt. I wonder if they will show someone making out their post cards from Pearl Harbor- " It happened again, don't know when I'll be back." Like I did.

I think it'* too early for a Sept. 11th movie... although that event seems to be an underlying storyline in this particular case. It sounds like a great story with lots of heroics (the real-life kind, not the Spiderman kind), but there is still so much unresolved about 9/11/01.

If you watched the trailer it'* going to be a girl was mad @ dad for being in the nav and 9/11 made the brat know why he is in. It just that it'* hits hard they did a movie about that time where I was @. Of the stories about or involve they found out about this one.
The f'ed up thing is I was to go out on the Enterprise but traded det'* to be on the Connie, and we didn't do squat where'* the Enterprise got the payback. I missed out on that operation will haunt me for a long time.
