Very true. In fact I know a kid that did a burnout in a Kmart parking lot as a unmarked cop was driving by, and the cop simply pulled in, stopped him, and ticketed him for dangerous driving.

Most shopping centers don't want people doing burn outs etc... in their parking lots. They deal with this by having an agreement with the local police granting authority to enforce traffic laws on their property.

This is absolutely wrong. You can get a ticket in your own driveway behind a locked gate. It doesn't matter if you are on private property, any time you drive in a reckless or dangerous manner you are subject to a ticket or arrest. A cop can write you a ticket anytime and anywhere he witnesses you performing a moving violation. There are some types of offenses such as trespass for which your theory holds true, but you are asking for trouble to proceed under the assumption that you are immune from prosecution for a moving violation as long as you are on private property.
The best rule of thumb is, don't do anything illegal and you won't get caught. And if you feel you have to do something stupid, get away from other traffic (especially cops) and goof off somewhere you are less likely to be observed.

They can not give you a ticket if you are on private property!! BUT since you were at Pizza Hut, anyone can go there, he can ticket you for it. Found all this out a month ago when I did an Oral Com. speech on it. Even interviewed my friends dad. (The popo)

Happened at Fairview Mall, Sheppard/Donmills Buddy was with his friends in the parking lot on the top level, i did forget to add one thing, the mall has its own security with about 12 fleet vehicles. To get to the point the owner never pressed charges(and the cop did not show up for the case), i am guessing its just a waste of time for Him/Her. I actually recall a video posted somewhere with this exact situation and they caught it all on tape, i will look into it.

I did a burnout a long while back and the cop pulled me over and gave me a warning called "unsafe acceleration" I still do burnouts but have not been caught by the cops yet. I am still a kid at heart.

Yeah...I got a warning from a cop just from spinning my tires in the rain yesterday! I wasn't really meaning to, I was trying to get the hell out of someone'* way in a quick manner...and with RWD...it happens.

Here in NY its as Fast enough says. You don't even need a drivers license if you stay on your own property.
