Thats a generous allowance for paint Man, it would be nice if they would just let you choose the shop and sign a waiver or?. You arent that far from Dreamakers down here and I could hook you up with a sweet deal for 5k. Mine was 7k but marbeling involves alot of layers. the price sets alot of people back but proper prep, and finish are so important to a distinctive paint job. The prep of my car( dismantle, wet sand, and taping took 3 days before the 7 seperate coats were applied over nearly a week (drying time) then 3 days of wet sanding and buffing through 3 grits to get a glasslike finish

Leave it as is, you'll kill the value changing colors unless you go down to metal on the entire chassis.
