Default Pacemaker

I got some news for anyone that cares here. I am getting a pacemaker put in on the 1st of Nov. Just thought I would let everyone know and I am 24 too so it is not an age thing. My suggestion to everyone is stay on top of your health.

24???????????

Anything in family history indicate this could happen or was this out of the blue, if I may ask? Not asking for specefic stuff, just answer family history or out of the blue.

Is your heart a tick or two slow? Do they have any concerns that your heart may stop? Or is it the Amount of beats they are concerned about?

That is extremely slow, and dangerous... I think the lowest mine has ever been at rest was 57<---- Normal..

Does this pace maker include the Defibrillator feature to shock you back in the event that your heart does stop?

it will have a sensor in it to kick up to "normal" if it senses something way too low. she said basically it is the mercedes of pacemakers lol. Then I asked if she meant over priced geerman machinery. I will be looking at getting it replaced every 6-8 years depending on how quick the battery dies

Sorry to hear that, but glad to hear you are getting one before it'* too late.

Word of advice, if you play sports or take part in action that requires alot of physical involvement let someone know you have a pacemaker. This summer my team was playing another team from a town almost 50 miles away and although some of his teammates kinda knew him through work, none knew he had a pacemaker when he collapsed at second base.
