i know the older machines were so easy to overclock...i had a 233 mhz cyrix running at 300 for the longest.....
My AMD 2.0ghz runs at 2.2ghz and my 400mhz DDR runs at 420mhz.
My vid card is also rated at 350 and runs at 550 and its memory ,rated at 480 runs at like 950 or 1000mhz..
I love overclocking

Overclocking is the process of forcing a computer component to run at a higher frequency than the manufacturer'* specification. Although there are many different reasons for overclocking, the most popular one is to increase hardware performance. Overclocking can result in system instability and sometimes even hardware failure if done carelessly.
Overclocking is mostly practiced by PC enthusiasts in order to realize the full potential of their computers. Some hardware enthusiasts purchase a low-end computer and overclock it, thereby attaining performance of a higher-end system, while others will overclock high end components, attaining unprecedented performance.

Find the registry hardware listing that has the name "GenuineIntel", and put a space between Genuine and Intel.
Believe it or not, it works. :P
There are many ways, and this is but one.

Another way (hardware) is to remove your heatsink, use a No2 pencil, and and "draw" a heavy line between the first two capacitors (or are they resistors? Resistors, I think) But this is only for AMD processors, I believe.
Go to a tweak site, should have all the info you need.

been overclocking intels for about 5 years or so, and have never seen any reference to this before ~~~ intel has locked their multipliers starting with p3s and up ( except for es chips) and the only way to overclock was by jumpers or increasing the fsb
