Default outstanding internet upgrade

OK THEN! Just got an upgrade from charter on my high speed internet! got in on a 6 month promotion for 39.99 and will only be $5 more a month than my regular rate afterwards. Upgrading from 3000kbps/256kbps to 5000/512! BOY this feels GOOOOD.

*glares at you while looking at his 28.8 connection*

Im happy for you, but at the same time, I hate you with an unquenchable fire.

My only other options besides dial-up are Cingular Edge and either WildBlue or HughesNet.

All of which start at 50-60 a month, and have horrible latency times. In the case of WildBlue, youre also restricted to a certain amount of bandwidth before they throttle you. Not to mention the 2-300 dollar upfront costs. It sucks I tell you.

So for now I stick with my 9.95 dialup.

Good news, a speed bump is always sweet. I've had dsl for 5-6years now. And every year when we sign for another year it always seems it gets cheaper and faster. 5-6 years ago we had 786kbs/256kbs & Now we have 6mb/768kbs for 27.99 a month

Yeah I pay 44.95 a month for Fios which is 15 mbps but was upgraded for free to 20 mbps. I guess any extra speed helps.
