Not unless I've missed something big. The 3.9 is the new big motor for the compact cars and only comes in the G6 GTP, the top of the line model. I haven't heard anything about improvements on the 3.9 yet.
The W-body big motor from now on is the 5.3 V8.
Anything smaller than the G6 will get the Ecotec or Ecotec */C or turbo.

Must have heard it in on some uninformed forum I came across on a random search. Prob no fact to it, I haven't been able to find anything to back it up.
The superCharger that is, the 3900 is fact

I heard the G6 was a 3.5 at 200 hp
which is awsome

not really sure about the 06 models

Thanks for your opinions, I suppose that if the quality from the Bonnevilles got carried over to the G6 then I guess its a worthwhile buy. Thanks! Now the next step is to step into one and take it for a test drive. Im sure she will notice a difference after our 88' Ford Taurus Rustbucket Edition has been choking up lately.

The 3.5( 3500 ) is the newer engine for the Midsized cars... It produces 200 HP and 220 ft lbs....

The 3900 will be used in cars like the G6... Its plenty strong... I'll bet we see some changes with the 3900 in the future as the 3800 will meet its demise... The 3900 is a 60* V6 just like the 3100'* 3400'* 3500'*...

I've driven a G6 with the 3500. It'* a nice ride, with nice pickup.

My aunt just got a G6 GTP with the 3900. She likes it a lot. They can easily smoke a GTP or SSEi in stock form.
