Default Open mouth, insert foot! (re: car model names)

How do they ever come up with all the new car model names? Tonight I saw a commercial for the new "Equinox" (which reminded me of the weather term, not even sure who makes it)... I said jokingly to my wife "Gee, I wonder when they will come out with the Solstice?" A casual visit to the pontiac.com website just now, and I learned that Pontiac has a 2006 Solstice. Ha! That'* what I get for thinking I was making a joke.

What are some of the other crazy car names that are out there now?

I was writing an insurance policy on a lady that swore she drove a Goolie so when I went outside to inspect it found out it was a Pontiac 6000 LE. She didn't know any better and I could hardly keep from laughing. That remains one of my favorite work memories.

I don't think I would have had the composure to keep from LMAO. Something similar happened with a customers "X-RATI". I thought "what the hell is an X-RATI? It was actually the Merkur XR4Ti. Not nearly as funny as yours though.

I like names not numbers and chit.

NSX works cause it was the original, but you're whole line!?!? Bimmers have x series, which isn't bad. Solstice is a nice name for a stripped sports car!

But yes, Touareg? Phaeton?

Corrodo isn't bad, and all the italians like Zonda after the man hiimself, or Gallardo? Those are names that'll last forever

Seen those, but only white. I actually saw a car I had never seen before the other day. It was a 1962... Herald...Triumph...somethin.... Why have I never seen this before? It was the neatest litle car ever. Pretty bad condition on the inside, though.

But at least Triumph is a cool name. Unlike Pinto.
