Car Salesmen (rant)
Ok, so my mom wants to get a new car. So, due to her being cooped up in the house from an injury I have been visiting the local car strip for brochers on what I think she would like (and what I'd alow her to have .) But I just can't belive how uneducated salesmen are on the vehicles they are selling. I told the guy more about the new Impala than he ever knew. I on one hand find it amusing but on the other find it annoying that I have to make the sales pitch to myself. But there'* also the occasinal lot (including the Pontiac one i visited) that seems to be unoccupied. Now, this is good and bad. Means I can roam the lot without the smalltalk crap that goes on when you have a salesman in tow. But in the other hand, I couldn't even get a brocher. I really wanted to get a GP and G6 one, but there wasn't any salesmen to be seen inside the showroom let alone someone to ask where I could find some. Really disapointed me. And then there is the salesman that dosen't treat you worth **** unless your 50 years old like himself. Ran into one of them at the Chrysler dealership. Oh well, didn't want my mom the have a 300C anyways. On another note, I can't belive how darn expensive they are selling the 300'*. A "Touring" model with the 3.5V6 was marked at 30 grand. Sorry mom, no Chrysler for you....
But anyways, I just had to share my frustrations.....

i know how ya feel... the GF is looking to get a 01 SSEi, and the salesman is not sure that the car came with SSEI floor mats, and if they were even made he also said that the car is a good family car and it has a "supercharger" and is fast

I can understand your frustrations, but, on the other hand, you must realize that these car dealers see so many different cars. Some of them aren't even of the brand they're selling. They cannot possibly remember every insignificant detail that only a car nut would know, such as what type of floor mats the car would get. We only know here because we're obsessed with these cars.

Expert Gearhead
There is a certain truth to that fact Dan, but to be honest, I would expect my salesman to be an expert. I knew more about the 2002-04 300 M Specials then any dealership I went to visit.
Most didnt understand why the Special had 5-7 more bhp.
In my field of work, I'm expected to be an expert in my field, as is everyone else in the office, the same should apply to car salesman. I think its more the fact that customers have no idea what they are getting besides...the colour is nice, or the wheels are big, or its fuel efficient.
