The average age on MFPD was 50some when i was an active member. That was even with the 16 and 17 year olds to even it out! :P

I think the lowest it got while I was there was about 47. My dad'* assistant chief, and he'* 50 now, the chief is in his 60s and has grandkids. Most firefighters there are in their 40s and 50s. We have had a few that've been 16 and 17 with parental consent. Illinois now lets people under 18 fight fires. I guess they figure that if they can set 'em, they can fight 'em...

I could put a siren and light bar on car exept I choose to keep my vehichles registered in NY where I am also a resident. But my hat and badge get me free beer at all the neighboring counties functions as well as our own..... And thats a GOOD THING!!!

Doubling the population with outsiders. They throw candy at parades, remember? Also, there will be big shiney things in the sky that will go boom. Actually, I will honestly be surprised if we don't MORE THAN double the population (the pop is only 1000).
