If anything it makes oil perform worse.

Lowrider0308 Apr 10, 2007 11:15 PM

you cant believe everything on the internet...I'm not discrediting the bob the oil guy thing, but I'm not sold on it either. I use slick 50 every 50,000 miles. Does it work, I dont know. My grandpa used it in his 3800's, and now my family uses it in our 3800's.

I have heard people argue this for 4 decades.........And my Gramps said it best,........Mechanics do Not come in a can, they Just Wont Fit.

If it was so good, why don't any mechanics recommend it, why don't car manufacturers put it in their car, or have their own products, why isn't there any real 3rd party proof that says they do anything?

If it cost a little more to add some additives to oil, and do the things they claim, motor oil companies would do it to have something to differentiate.

Mobil 1. Pure and simple is better.

Updating...anyone use engine flush?

GXP Venom Apr 11, 2007 01:32 AM

I used to But, A 2.8L I had in an S-10 started knocking (rod main) immidiately after an engine flush/oil change. I stopped using engine flush and always wondered if the engine flush killed the viscosity/lubrication protection enuough to have killed that engine. :?
