thats sounds good, but being my friend he didn't ask for money, but i would feel terrible if he did it for free, its more of a conscience thing. how much would you pay to have him teach me how? because i would love to be able to do this myself haha
Lift and properly support front end
Position catch pan
Remove oil drain plug
Let it go till it more or less stops dripping
Put oil plug back in
Move catch pan under oil filter
Unscrew oil filter with really tight grip or with help from filter wrench (or an old serpentine belt and robogrips as usually my case)
Let the oil drain from the oil filter adapter
Dap your finger in used oil and smear a little on new oil filter rubber gasket
Screw new oil filter in
Lower vehicle
Raise hood
Remove engine oil cap
Pour in 5 quarts of oil
Replace oil cap
Close hood
Suprise him with any of that you can remember when you are out there and a beer (or a Pepsi) and a samich.

assume the average place will charge u $25 for their bulk oil and a filter, your oil and filter should cost u $15, how about u give him $10 to show you how, then ull get an oil change for normal rpice and learn how to do it urself next time, or lunch and a beer, lol
