Use pasta if you don't have rice. It will extract the moisture.
I've heard MANY cases of recovering cellphones in this manner. Including my own Motorola V551 which dropped in water at WCBF05. The phone was working fine within 2 hours.

ok i just managed to make the biggest mess in recorded history. There is pasta ALL OVER my room. Shoot. Well at least my phone is buried, I can't see it anymore. I also warmed the pasta with a hairdryer to hopefully help the evaporative effect. We'll know the verdict when I wake up...and I guess I'm calling sprint if it doesn't work :(

Sprint will say your screwed unless you bought the replacement plan thing for extra. Thats what they told me but you can still try. You can get the discount on a phone pending how long you have been a customer, but they will not give you the sale price like you see online, you have to pay the full price. When I had to replace mine I went ebay and bought a brand new phone for $200, saved about $100 and went and got it activated at the Sprint store. They looked at me weird when I told them I bought it on ebay and I told them I wasn't going to buy a phone at their outrageous prices. You have to be careful when you buy a phone on ebay because Sprint wont activate stolen phones...
