Default Oh Darn :(

Hey...Just found out my horse has arthritis. The kind where the bone keeps generarting, so by the time his days are up he'* going to have a huge bone growing out of his knee. This is due to a severe old injury. Apparently the vet says he'* all good to ride - as soon as this horrible episode he'* going through with it right now clears up.

Poor baby. Makes me wish me could tell me what happened before.
Here'* a new picture of us together. He looks really short here because he has his head down and is resting it on my shoulder!

I guess this means we're not going to spruce meadows!

Can horses take Aspirin? My dog has arthritis.....he takes an aspirin in the morning, and glucosimin (sp?) in the afternoon. It really helps, especially in the winter.

Well Drifter, I think you're going to be in pain, but if she'* feeling merciful, the end will be quick.

Sorry about the horse, tho. It really sucks when a pet that can't ask for help is in pain...

Sorry to hear that. It really sucks to know a family member (all animals in my home are family) is suffering and not being able to stop it. :( Best wishes to you.

Thanks everyone. He WILL be ok...but it'* bound to be a hinderance to him, just as arthritis is for anyone who has it. His swelling is starting to go down now, and i've even got him actually eating the asprin prescribed
