Actually from having time spent swimming 180+ miles in the Red sea. I swam with Black and White tipped reef sharks, one of the only two species of sharks to go right to attack mode instead of just nipping to see what you were. Now, if your around a reef, and your walking on it, your more apt to stick you foot in a hole and have a toe bitten by say an octopus[yes it does happen], or in our area, we had Red Sea Coral cods, which had a nasty set of chompers and were territorial. Theres also Surgeon fish, which have a little fin on the back near their tails on either side that could cut a small toe off it you kicked at them as they are also very territorial. As for the Reef sharks, we only had one instance in the 8 months I was there that a reef shark attacked and killed a lifeguard. Circumstances to this day that prevoked the attack are shady, but territory was the main reasoning. If you need any info, let me know.

I'm aware that a shark is unlikely to bite off your big toe, but thats why it'* funny, for some inconcievable reason there would be a single shark that just goes around biting off ppls big toes, not a test bite or any other type of aggression, it just goes aorund biting off ppl big toes, i wonder what shark biologists would have to say about such a rampge, lol
