The new STS is a far superior car as a whole to the Magnum/300C, the 300C is a wannabe go-fast flash in the pan plastic box with no class at all. Its innovative technology ranks near the ground and doesnt have any style of its own.

The STS however is the top of the heap flag ship car for GM. Its got everything...I mean everything. If you want an accurate assemement. Compare the S-Class Mercedes, BMW 7 Series and Audi A8 to the new AWD STS.

Just because the 300C has a big stupid Hemi and lotta HP doesnt make it a good car.

Besides the 5L50 transmission is stated to be the best transmission the General has ever created (that remains to be seen) but that cannot be said for Chrysler. The 300C is a cheaped down version of the E-class Merc. Compare the REAL E-Class to the STS...thats more realistic.

Ya I'll believe that when I see it....Trannys haven't really ever been GM's strong point......

Compared to other company's trannys, GM makes some good ones. The 5L50 looks to be quite an engineering marvel.

Or the Alison Transmission. I know, I know, it is in HD trucks, but it's still a bullet proof transmission. A friend of mine's parents has an '04 Silverado 3500 [i think], with the duramax and alison transmission. He is towing a 15,000lb 5th wheel accross the country, and not a problem, still gets 14mpg, even.

Yea, the 4T60 series has its weak point because the 3800 thats bolted to it is way overloaded with TQ and available aftermarket power adders. The tranny cant take that abuse.

I've seen Ford/Chrysler car go thru transmissions way before the Generals' trannies.

But thats not the topic. The STS is a marvel and the STS-V is worth the coin.

Too bad I'm only 20.....I'd try to go out on a test drive or something....See what they're like.

Hemi's all hype, too. The technology is 100% totally functional, but c'mon, countless maintstream engines (in things like family cars, for that matter) have had hemi chambers since the 1960's, when it all started.

That Caddy must be real heavy to post numbers like that.
My Bonne is heavy and has 100 hp less and it's just as fast.

C&D is down on GM for some reason. Personal biases may be at play.
