Default NYIAS With pictures included! 56k go walk the dog. seriously

Well Oldsman and I went to the auto show today and we had a good time. We got there late so we had a little under 2 hours to scout the place out. Here are some of the pictures I took.

We started out by taking a picture of the Dodge Nitro. It was nice looking IMO.
DSCF0016-6.jpg
I had to snap the picture quickly before the tranny blew up from the Nitro'* power!

Next we ran to take a good look at the new ford econoline. I must admit it is a very nice staep up for the economic work van. Nice upgrade

A picture of Olds in a montecarlo. Probably one of the last or the last year of production.
DSCF0023-4.jpg

The horrendous rear end of the newly redisigned impreza WRX. I must say the rear end is even Fuglyer in person. These picture does not do the fuglyness of this monstrosity! (Keep in mind that I have always liked subarus, but after this my fondness for them may stop. :?

As oldsman and I am particularly Buick fans, we went to the BUICK section for be assulted by their representatives. I guess that was because we were the only ones that dared approaced the abiss that BUICK has become or we were the only people who came close to them all they and they missed having outside human contact.

I was sorely dissapointed by the new La cross and Lucern Suoer models. I did not like the new grills on any of them. They are too spread out IMO. They are also very pricey for the quality of the cars, as are the standard editions.
DSCF0060-1.jpg
DSCF0084.jpg
So gapped between the teeth, these cars would make David Letterman proud!
DSCF0081.jpg

The other thing that caught us as strange was that the interiors were horrible material wise for the price range of these cars. The seats were unsupportive and HARD! They felt like they fought you. The I suggested to oldsman that we try the Northstar equipped Lucern. (Ofcourse we sat in the 3800 model first! The difference was night and day between the Northstar and the 3800 models. Matterials, confort even roomier (don't understand how!?) the steats were sooo much better too! But in conclusion the price was not worth it at all! So I guess GM is killing off BUICK.

So on to the G8!

The car is much nicer in person than in pictures. I liked the car it looked very nice. The build quality was very nice and the full resolution pics I took you can clearly see the stiched dash, but those anemities will probably not make production. I must admt it was a very nice car.

The 300c was nice and roomy.

Also took some pics of the new chrysler concept. The Nassau

We went to the Toyota section to see and sit in the Avalon. It saddens me to say that it was the best car out of all the cars we sat in. The car was nice and neat. Very comfortable seats. Extremely roomy, more than any large sedan we sat in all night and the price was just right. It honestly was the Buick that GM never built. It was dissapointing but true. in 10 to 5 years I see myself owning one quite frankly there was nothing about that car that did not impress me. *Does anyone know how reliable that 3.5 Liter engine is? How reliable and moddable?
DSCF0036-3.jpg

Then I saw the new Fugly Toyota Rice concept.
DSCF0038-2.jpg
DSCF0037-2.jpg
"Last week I saw two guys kissing at a park and that was no where near as g@y as this car.

Lastly we went to Caddy. I must admit they were very nice cars. If they were not overpriced and filled with useless features I would buy one new, but probably will pick one up used 10 years down the road of life and Northstar oil consumption.

Then we went to go see the New CTS. It was very nice and classy! I was impressed!

The G8 is the bonne and GP replacement really.

It'* an affordable, 4 door GTO with options for every price point. It'* quality GM USA can't touch for anything near the price it will be offered at.

It'* one of the top two things to happen to pontiac in the last 5 years easily.. The other being the Solstice (all IMHO)

Very true. I can't stress enough that this car looks a lot better in person than in the promotional pictures. For some reson the car in the promos always looked kinda "skinny" but in person the car is more muscular and has more personality. I love the small honeycomb grill it has at the bottom of the rear bumber between the exhaust tips.

BAhhhh that'* old news to us folks in Michigan J/K

I like the Buick Lucerne, but the way the interior is designed it messes with my long legs so I could never get one. Also the G8 is starting to grow on me, although I hate Pontiac is getting rid of all it'* famous names...but I guess I have to choose my battles
