If you're in that 25+ age bracket (I am! ), I would really appreciate it if you would help me by answering a few questions:
1) Have you joined Facebook?
2a) If you *have* joined Facebook, who convinced you to do so and why did you join?
2b) If you have *not* joined Facebook, have you ever been invited to join? Why did you choose not to join?
3) How old are you?
4) How much privacy do you expect when using Facebook? How much privacy would you like to have?
5) How do you use the web to keep in touch with your family? If you don't use the web, what do you use?
5 - 6) How do you find out about offline organizations and activities?
/quote]
1 - No
2a - N/A
2b - I view sites like Facebook and MySpace as internet for people who have no lives
3 - 43
4 - IF I did everything would be set private
5 - Email only and telephone
6 - Word of mouth

1)Yes
2a)Some friends talked me into joining but I quit 1 deactivated the acct. 1 month later
3)19
4)I expect as much privacy as I want. The settings are all adjustable and pretty straightforward.
5)I talk to my family in person or on the phone.
6)E-mail
Facebook is stupid IMO. It is like a personal ad for everybody. Also includes drama baggage that is not needed. I'll pass.

I'm 24 and never joined facebook, myspace, etc etc. So I feel like answering this.
1) No
2a) N/A
2b) No one ever invited me to join. I don't feel like spending time on a social site because I spend time in social gaming environments. I used to play WoW and met many of my fellow guild players in real life and now we are all still good friends. After that I played Eve Online and instantly made friends for the time I played it. I do not see any desire to meet people on a website, gaming communities do it for me.
3) 24
4) I wouldn't expect much privacy from Facebook because its a website focused on social interaction. However, you can post only what you want others to know about you I suppose.
5) Email, but rarely. Mainly via phone and in person.
6) The Internet and what my friends find on the Internet.

3) 30
4) I would like to have as muh privacy as I choose to have at any ponit in time. Basically let m ehave complete privacy, and I can open up as I feel comfortanle to.
5) E-mail, Phone, and dedicated family only web forum (used mainly around the holidays to talk about others behind their backs, like who is getting who what for christams).
6) Google
7) (added this one) I don't see a need or desire to have a facebook page. I have a family and friends already.I have limited time to be online most days, and I can think of better ways to use that time.

1) Have you joined Facebook? - Yes
2a) If you *have* joined Facebook, who convinced you to do so and why did you join?
My daughter because it was the only way I could view her pictures and communicate with her.
3) How old are you? - 53 .....Who'* your Daddy.
4) How much privacy do you expect when using Facebook? How much privacy would you like to have?
None
It is basically a useless waste of cyber space IMO
I made the mistake of commenting nicely about some pics on my Son'* page and was severely reprimanded by him for embarrasing him with his friends. He only invites negative comments and insults. Anything nice is viewed as Gay and Weird.
I couldn't believe the trash and foul mouthed comments from both sexes.
5) How do you use the web to keep in touch with your family? If you don't use the web, what do you use?
I use Outlook or Photobucket most of the time when not on BC
6) How do you find out about offline organizations and activities? - My children and this club.

why are you under 25 yrs old answering these questions?
Bill, Myspace and Facebook may be social networking sites, but they are nothing alike. Myspace is to the LN3 as Facebook is to the L67.
