Monetary value can not offset the emotional attachment you and your car share for one another. If I had no place to hide my car, I'd find ANYTHING to cover it. I'd rip the shirt off my back if it would save 'er.

Seriously though, if it happens again, put some blankets and or towels on it. It'll at least save your paint.
