Default Non Bonnevile tech question

Hey guys, my GF'* Montero is making a clicking noise at the starter. I checked the cables cleaned them, checked voltage and battery is reading 12.59 but lights are dim, wipers barely work. I was wondering if it is possible to have a battery read 12 plus volts but still not have enough amperage to run anything? My gut feeling say it is possible and I probably need to replace pos and neg cable and a new battery. any thoughts?

Yes it is possible. Can you jump start the car with cables from another car?

Sounds like the battery. I believe AutoZone will test it for you at no charge.

People are going to hate me for this, but I love my WalMart battery. Been using it for 2 or 3 years with no issues what so ever. And it'* hard to beat the price.

Just don't get their cheap battery. I got their mid-price batery (about 60 to 70 bucks if I remember right), and selected the largest one that would physically fit in the car. I rarely if ever get the Voltmeter wander most people report any more

Thats what I thought. I was a little unsure because this truck has 10 times the wiring as a bonnie and not nearly as fun to work on, this truck has been a pain in my *** for the past 2 years. Thanks for the input,You guys rock, and have never let me down.

I run the walmart bats, best part is if they do go , their warranty policy is great.
