Default NO Low Beams on a 98 Cavalier.

1998 Cavalier

The low beams do NOT work.

The DRLs work just fine, all the other lights work, and the brights work. When the headlight switch is on the interior lights dimm.

I swapped the DRL relay from the one in my bonneville..same problem....same relay etc.

I put the car and turned on the headlights and still nothing, the other lights work except the 2 headlights. With the motor on the DRLs work when it is in gear.

I swapped bulbs as well and swapped fuses in the door fuse box for each headlight.

What do I do next?

yeah I bought it.

Needs a bit of junkyard love..

Do most GMs have the headlight wiring going straight from the switch to the headlights..there does not appears to be a "headlight" relay.

Lo beams have +12 volts at all times. Headlight switch completes the circuit by grounding the Dark blue wire. PM an email address if you want a copy of the wiring diagram.
