But if he swapped in an SR20DET (2.0L Turbo) he could do 13s easy.

lows 15's ive seen it in person and that is with the KA24 Dohc motor

My mom's Altima has the KA24DE in FWD form... not a bad motor - torquey, but not so good in the NVH department.

It should be able to take a Vin3/VinC Bonneville (or slower)... and not much else. Maybe low 16's with the Alty.

The 240SX and 240Z were different cars

And Ryan... pffffffff, everybody and their mom is doing the SR20 swap... if I was in a position to swap an S13/S14, it'd HAVE to be an RB20DET or RB25 8)

Straight-line isn't necessarily the strength of the 240SX. With RWD and a manual transmission, it makes for quite the fun car regardless of the power output.

lol, an RB25 would be pimp....

I've only ever seen low 16s, but we're at a high altitude here, so we're slower on the whole here.

The 240 SX started in 88 i believe. and 94 saw only the convertible produced. 95 and 96 were resesigned and then again in 97-98. The KA24DE is actually a truck motor and was used to appease the americanperception that more is better. Stock they are not too quick in auto form, but handle decent is the turns. Having driven a 98 240SX SE in auto, I know this from experience. I do also know, I fit in the back seats sideways but my head still hits the roof. Riding in the front necessitates either no rear passenger or the sunroof open. In my opinion the 97-98 are the best looking followed by the 90-94's.

As far as swaps, I'd either go KA24DE-T or RB25. If money wasn't a worry, then RB26DETT with AWD, but that is a lot of work and almost as easy to import a Skyline GTR at that point.

Especially in Canada, R32 Skylines are starting to pop up over here. After 15 years, they're legal to import. 8)

(vs. 25 years in the US, IIRC)

Yeah, although there are rumblings of upping it to 25 years in Canada...not sure how serious they are, however.
