I just picked up the new DL Incognito disc today...gonna check that out. Personally, I like the Roots, Kwali, Soulive, (Kwali and Soulive have a great tune called Bridge to Bama) and I also vibe to Gangstarr
Thanks rat, I heard of more than half of those guys on your list, but forgot they were out there.
I want to listen to some of their demo clips on their webpage. What type of beat is the CD Jim?

If you're disappointed with the rock that'* mainstream right now, you might like my personal fave band The Marvelous 3. They've got a bit of old-school garage-band energy going on, but their production is flawless. Sometimes cynical, sometimes poppy, usually upbeat. They do some old-school guitar-band stuff that rips, especially Lemonade, off the CD "Hey! Album". But their best CD has to be "Ready, Sex, Go", lots of guitar, terrific lyrics, and some guest musicians that'll really surprise you.
If you buy any of their stuff, remember to turn your bass up a little higher than normal, as their CDs aren't mastered with bass-boosting systems in mind.
P.*. TM3'* lead singer, Butch Walker, just put out a side-band project CD, "Re-Present", under the band name Jimmy'* Chicken Shack, that I haven't been able to find, but hear is excellent!
