thats a longbow dude, that pod utop the rotors is a radar pod, it'll sit behind a hill and peak with that thing, pick targates then pop up, unload up to 16 hellfire missiles on separate targats and drop back down before you even remember thats you've got any type of shoulder mounted missile system.

has anybody seen the top gear where the guy tries to outmanuver the longbow in a lotus?

I kinda thought that was a gag....the pilot could see which way the track was going to turn and could have anticipated it.

so i showed that picture to my fiancee. she told me they shouldve used a fighter jet. i disagreed, so we got into the pros and cons of using a fighter jet vers a military helicopter. wonderful debates we have.

actually it was on an airstrip. only stipulation that the chopper had was that it could not leave the runway area

Chopper can fly as slow as a constant hover, jet'* can't go slower then like 140 mph with out droopping from the sky like a rock, unless you get like I think it'* the F-35B, that one can actually divert it'* thrust to hover for vertical landing and take off'* on carriers.

If the AH-64D could leave the runway area, the lotus wouldve been toast. Close in combat would be unrealistic for a helo like that.
