As of late, we have had some problems with the explorer. All of them have been resolved, but still it'* a PITA to take it back to the dealership everyother week. Everything from ball joints, leafsprings, heated seats, radio... its all been going to **** as of late. It isn't even that old either... 1999 with a little over 40k most highway from trips to and from Hitlon Head... and my mom and dad work at the same place, so to keep his car looking good, they drive that in the winter to work(highway again). Car show is weekend after next, he said that will play a big part in his decision..
As for the xenon lights, I didn't know about them, if they got em, cool; but if not its not that big of deal, I can always put a set of silverstars in!
We priced a few out, looking to be a little less than 40k with all of the options we want.

You'll love the GMC. I've been in plenty of explorers, but they feel like accountants made them. You can really tell what'* behind a GMC truck. In 98 the only full size trucks with lockers were GMC/Chevy, they had the nicest interior, bench seats with leather (what we wanted) and the 5.7l Vortec 350 engine. I LOVE driving it. Solid rear axle MMMMM.
EDIT: The envoy is a VERY nice appointed SUV too, a good combination of luxury and style, vs ruggedness and toughness. You could get it dirty inside, and take it to the opera the next night. Just don't get the XUV.
