Had a scissors jack collapse under my old rust-bucket Taurus(278,000miles, God rest it'* soul! ), while I had tire, brake disk, and mud shield off to remove hub. Took 4 hrs to figure out how to get it off ground and d*mn near lost a foot when it went!
