I'd go with the 89 bonneville. The transmissions in those Taurus'* are horrible. They self-destruct every 40,000 miles it seems like!

Now, don't go applying the tranny failure to all years. The trannies failed more in the 92-96 models. The earlier years lasted forever.

I had a 92 that was at 120k miles and still had the original tranny and engine. Dont abuse a Taurus and they will go on for a long time. Only thing that went out on it was the motor mounts, but cheap repair. The engine would jump up and leave a dent in the hood whenever the transmisison was engaged. It was kinda cool
