I can't comment much on point-shoot'* anymore. My old Canon S400 still does the job when I need it, but I have been spoiled by Canon L-series glass.

in the last 5 years technology has a changed a LOT. My sister got the A540 for x-mas and it'* a great camera. I've used the A530 and liked that one as well.

Very true. I've seen some point-shoots that have amazing contrasts and colors. There is so much after-exposure processing by the camera that things can get tweaked to look good.

LOL Frank

And you, get that film developed! Film apparently can still provide a usable image even if it'* years out of date. Colour balance may be off, but there'll be something.

Reminds me when I was stationed on Fort Drum. Had to get an x-ray of my finger. Which required me to visit one clinic on post. Got the x-ray done. Was told to go back to my doctors office for further evail. Ok. That office is 6 miles away, on the other side of post. Long story short....he pulls my x-rays up on his computer in his office. No film, no waiting.

Another time I had to get an MRI done on my back, they told me to get copies of my back x-ray first. So, I go get them from the clinic. They hand me a CD-ROM instead. Here'* your sign!
