Oops! You are right... I was actually misreading this section, which says the combinations you CANNOT have. I skimmed it and thought these were the ONLY possible combinations. That'* how it is in Illinois ... letters then numbers, or vice versa. :P
There are several plate sequences that cannot be used for personalized, personalized-collector and original plates. They are
= All combinations of 3 alpha and 3 numeric characters (ABC123 or 123ABC)
= All combinations of 2 alpha and 3 numeric characters ( AA123 or 123AA)
= All combinations of 2 alpha and 4 numeric characters (AA1234 or 1234AA)
= All combinations of 3 alpha and 3 numeric characters (ABC123 or 123ABC)
= All combinations of 2 alpha and 3 numeric characters ( AA123 or 123AA)
= All combinations of 2 alpha and 4 numeric characters (AA1234 or 1234AA)
