My dad had a explorer with the 4.0 Sohc engine. 210hp and a 5 speed auto it was nice. Now he has an V10 Excursion but with gas prices wishes he kept the Explorer

And yes, I drive a '94 Ranger 3.0 to work every day. For those that don't know, the 3.0 Vulcan engine is one tough little workhorse and rivals our 3.8 for longevity. Power not so great, the '94 only pulled 143 engine HP, but with an Under Drive Pulley, CAI, and throtle cable mod, it zips along OK.
Now, mileage in the Ranger ain't so good. Mine is up at the top end and only gets 21-23. Some get as little as 15-17 mpg. My Bonnie gets 28-30 all day long.
I drive my truck primarily for work related reasons (construction/manufacturing industry), but it hasn't been bad to me.

Oh Boy... Don't get me started on the Vulcan Motor... Thats one of the Ford motors I really like...
That 3.0 has the 60* design, as well as the 4.0 SOHC...
I have been impressed with both of these motors

Again, good old pushrod engines.
On another side of this subject, despite the huge amount of Rangers on the road, I can NEVER find them in the yards around here. Haven't figured that out yet.
