Default My Personal Thanks

To all who attended NEBF. To shed a little light on the matter, Frank is not used to having anyone help him and has become a bit of a pessimist. So I was really happy when I finally convinced him to attend. Things were a little touch and go a couple of weeks before the meet when he started having more problems...but as always, with help from BC members, he managed to fix the problems.

Needless to say, when he returned home on Monday night, both he and Michael were grinning from ear to ear and they kept me up until the wee hours telling me stories about how amazingly generous everyone was.

This is simply a thank you to all for everything you did. Not only for giving Frank your time and expertise but for showing him that there are wonderful people out there who give simply for the pleasure of helping others and expecting nothing in return. Frank considers you all friends and I hope to one day have the opportunity to meet and thank all of you personally.

Cathy

That was my first big meet too and I got a chance to talk with both Frank and Michael. You've got a fine pair of young men there and I'm glad they both enjoyed themselves as much as my wife and I did. It really was a grand time even though neither of us really knew many of the members it was.

We're looking foward to meeting you soon!

Hey there Mrs. MMBLF!
Frank'* a great guy, glad he got those issues taken care of. That manifold flange was pretty scary looking! Most of the issues he had with the car were minor, but there was a pretty long list of those minor problems. Hopefully, now his new Bonnie will have the same lifespan his last one did!

Very nice of you to jump on the club and share your thoughts. It was tough to get Frank to accept the fact that we all just wanted to help. He was pretty stubborn most of the time, but we finally won him over (or just ignored or threatned him) and I think he left with a warm fuzzy feeling after having experienced BC "family" first hand. He and Mick fit right in from the the moment he rolled in, and added many fantastic moments during the meet.

I'll never forget after he rolled the Bonneville into the garage late at night upon arrival and all 7 or 8 of us that were there started trying to work on the car. He kept on saying "Wait until tomorrow", but we couldn't resist at least having a look and starting the trouble shooting and diagnosis.

Cathy...

We were happy to help..and while they might not have mentioned it to you.. both Frank and Mick gave us alot in return. Being as what happened in Enfield is supposed to stay in Enfield..Frank will fill you in on that one.

Meanwhile.. We hope to see you at a meet soon, it'* been one of our best attempts to get the wifes, girl friend and significant others to meets with the bonnie nuts as well. We aren't merely a car forum at a car meet.. we are very much family and act as such. (you shoulda seen me giving the little brothers a hard time..lol)

Now...what'* this we hear about you fighting for the bonneville these days?

Bill:
I think it will be hard to get Mick out of the drivers seat. But I am sure that Mom can get the job done!

I have to say, as a wife of a bc nut, I was a little weary of the atmosphere I was getting myself into. I must say that bc members accept you faster than a real family might (maybe it'* b/c the diapers aren't a factor by this age) lol. I will give it to Frank for making everyone laugh from his actions and lack of picture taking skills. It was a joy meeting everyone there and look forward to the next meet my husband and I can attend.

Hey Cathy!

Being probably the only member who'* met you - I can honestly say you are one classy woman! Thank you for sending your boys to spend the weekend with us. And yes, it would be very nice to get more wives, gf'* and significant others to attend the meets. Frank finally stopped being so serious once the car was fixed. And Mic was incredible (although he did nearly leave his favorite sweatshirt behind... I had to keep after him for that).

Looking forward to seeing you soon....take care!

Well people, obviously my guys were fairly well behaved so for that I'm grateful! Although "When Canadians Attack" definitely proved that they did more than just work on the cars while they were there. And you're right Echo SSEI, Frank did come home with a warm fuzzy feeling. He'* still talking about how great everyone was. I can attest that he'* one proud, stubborn guy and I'm glad you guys managed to win him over so that you were actually allowed to touch his car!

As for Tracy'* comment about me being a classy woman....looks can be deceiving...although I've had Frank fooled for almost 27 years! Thanks for the compliment and I look forward to seeing you again as well as meeting everyone else one day...although you may retract that compliment once I've had a few drinks!

Now, about me trying to drive the Bonneville. Don managed to get the a/c working and since the a/c in my car doesn't work, the Bonneville is the car of choice this time of year. In addition, it doesn't ride like a Geo anymore! That'* the bonus, especially since my car is the one that rides like a Geo now since it'* being neglected in favour of the Bonne!

Bill, thanks for your continued efforts to get Frank to clean his tool room. I would send you a picture...unfortunately I can barely get through the door to take one and you would never believe the mess. He'* been working on that tool room since it was built 16 years ago. He'* the original tool man according to all our family and friends and he continually acquires more tools without thinking about where he'* going to store them. But don't get me going!

Thanks again to everyone!

Cathy, it'* good to hear from you!

As most everyone said already, we all enjoyed meeting "the boys" and had a great time. I, for one, feel like Frank is a good friend now, even if we did fight over a T-shirt, lol.

IMO, the meets just reinforce the sense of community that already exists on this club. People helping people helps build a sense of closeness that mere talk and advice can only start to do.
