Project War.

Project tractor: 1985 Montgomery Wards "War"
Engine: Rebuild, Gasket match, Turbo if I can find one, and swap in the 12hp I/C B&* I bought for $20, It has a light tapping at idle and a bad starter.
Transmission: Build two transmissions into one for the best gearing.
Driveline: Build in some sort of Go-Kart type clutch with chain drive.
Suspension: Use Murray drive axles, spindles and tires. Wider is better.
Electrical: All new, Push button start, Full guages, Cyberwhites.
Body: Sand and Refinish. Considering Chevy Engine Orange-Red or Pontiac Blue.
Chassis: Lots of stregthening, Mount 2" ball.

I was using the tractor for moving trailors around, But I kept on burning belts off. While I'm redoing the driveline I might as well learn how to do body work... Shouldn't take me more than a couple months.

Progress so far: Got tractor into shed and started the tear down. Got the "body" and engine out, Going back for round two tonight. Going to have to find a book on the engine.

Update: Got it down to just the front suspension, Five or six bolts left.
I found a good bit more rust than I expected, And the chassis torque flex is ungodly. The welder is my freind. Luckily the frame disassembles small enough that I can have it sprayed with Rhino truck bed liner or something similar.

Tractor: Montgomery Ward, TMO 33906 A F014C
Engine: Model, 286707. Type, 4026 01. Code, 91081411. 12.5hp Synco-Balanced I/C Quiet

Orange red, because that could be cool on a tractor.

Do some neat chevy paint touches, like the stripes on a Grand Sport Vette too or something..

Flames with 22" spinners!! haha

You have a LOT of work ahead of you. I say try to up the compression on that 12hp. I ported the heads on my 5hp push mower, and the compression went up somehow, and it'* gets horrible fuel economy [like 5LPG loL].

I would paint it black and put some flames on the front.

Nope, The batteries in my camera were dead for some reason *eyes brother who says he had nothing to do with it* But I've got a few of the dis assembled parts.

Update: Got every bolt out. Gotta run and fill up the gas can so i can power wash everything, I'm thinking this will be the third engine in this thing, It'll definatly be the most powerful.

Got everything organized and neat now. I think I'll start by strengthening the frame, Then once I have a rolling chassis do the motor. That means first up, Build the transmission since it mounts on the rear axle. I have yet to powerwash everything, It got dark. I did get all of the missing parts from my toolset, I have no idea where I lost $73 worth of sockets and wrenches...
